Strawberry Propagation Methods:
Strawberry seedlings are produced in 5 ways. They can be obtained from seed, branches, by separating the underground stem, from leaf varieties and by tissue cultures. The seedling from the seed is not used much in practice. It is mostly used for breeding purposes. The seedling from the branches is obtained from the branches (stolons) that come out of the leaf seats in the throat of a strawberry plant. These branches are a specialized stem that grows flat on the earth's surface and creates a new plant in each of its node. Plantlets are formed in the knuckles of the branches that emerge from the leaf seats, and where these knuckles touch the soil, these plantlets very easily create new roots and provide new seedlings similar to the main seedling. . It is possible to obtain 4-5 seedlings from each main plant. If plants need to be propagated rapidly, the method of obtaining seedlings from leaf cuttings is used. Young and middle-aged leaves are taken with leaf sheaths and planted by drawing 2 cm in two places. After the leaf cuttings are taken from the field, they should be brought to the greenhouse in wet sacks and kept in water before planting. To obtain seedlings by means of tissue culture, cells, tissues or organs are separated from plants and grown on an artificial nutrient medium under sterile conditions.
